OLSON, Janice Pauline

Janice Pauline Olson, 77 years of age from Minden, Nebraska died on Saturday, February 18, 2012 at the family farm in Kearney County near Minden. Janice was born on July 10, 1934 in Hamilton County, Nebraska. She was the second child of three born to Pete and Ada (Carlson) Larsen. Janice attended high school in Hordville and graduated class of 1952. She attended Kearney Teachers College and then taught school at Dual county rural school and Heartwell, Nebraska. Janice married Duane Olson on November 24, 1954 in Hastings and made their home at his farm near Norman, and later near Minden. They had 4 children, Doug, Greg, Brad, and Darin. She was preceded in death by parents Peter & Ada Larsen She is survived by husband Duane Olson of Minden; sons, Doug and wife Julie of Alliance, Greg and wife Michelle of Alliance, Brad of Lincoln, Darin and wife Lynnette of Lincoln; grandchildren, Katrina and husband Tom Young of Minden, Jonathan Olson of Alliance, Thomas Olson of Houston, TX, Philip Olson of Alliance, Brenna Olson of Lincoln, Craig Olson of Lincoln, Scott Olson of Lincoln, Leah Olson of Lincoln, great grandson Andrew Young of Minden; sister Shirley Just of Omaha, and brother Alan Larsen and wife Donna of Ridgecrest, California. Janice built a home and family, and devoted her life to them. She ministered help to many that crossed her path or had a need. She was dedicated to her faith and her church, and leaves behind a large church family from all over the continent that will miss her and her quiet strength. Mom was always doing, working, looking after things. A truly virtuous woman as in Proverbs 31. Look up verse 28: "Her children arise up, and called her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her." Funeral services will be on Wednesday, February 22, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at the Craig Funeral Home in Minden with Rev. Brian Hannigan officiating. Burial will be in the Minden Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home Tuesday from 5-7 p.m.
