SAMUELSON, Jean

Jean “Granny” Samuelson, 83 years of age from Minden, NE died on Saturday, January 21, 2012 at the Bethany Home In Minden. She was born on July 11, 1927 in St. Paul, NE to Lester and Grace (Townsen) Berggren. On July 16, 1943 she married E. C. “Sam” Samuelson. They lived in various places and then moved to Minden. Sam preceded her in death in 1990. Jean loved to be around people, play cards and sew. Mostly, she loved to be with her family. Survivors include two sons, David Samuelson of Casper, WY and Dennis Samuelson and his companion, Mary Van Housin of Daykin, NE; two daughters, Diane Ring and her husband, Richard of Pratt, KS and Debora McCully of Kearney, NE; nine grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; sister, Iona Johnson and her husband, Glen of Beatrice, NE; brother, Gary Berggren and his wife, Diane of Kansas City, MO; brother in-law William Gose; sisters in-law, Mary Lea Berggren and May Perry. She is preceded in death by her husband, Sam, two grandsons, Christopher McCully and Jeffery Winingham, sister, Donna Gose and brother, Clayton Berggren. Memorial services will be on Wednesday, January 25, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the Bethany Lutheran Church in Minden with Rev. Donald Hunzeker officiating. Burial will be in the Minden Cemetery. Craig Funeral Home in Minden is in charge of arrangements. No visitation.
