Clara H. Albers, 82 years of age from Minden, Nebraska died on Wednesday, August 10, 2011 at the Long Term Care Unit of Kearney County Health Services. Clara was born on October 5, 1928 in Johnson County, Nebraska to Paul and Ida (Doeden) Halm. At a young age she moved to Syracuse, NE and was confirmed on March 29, 1942 at the Evangelical Reform Church in Syracuse. She went to District 41 county school south of Syracuse and then graduated from Syracuse High School in 1946. On September 30, 1951 she married Erwin Albers and they made their home in Minden. She worked as a nurse's aid at the Kearney County Community Hospital for many years. Clara volunteered in Minden for many years. She was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Minden. Clara was very proud of her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed sewing and quilting. Memorials are suggested to the St. Paul Lutheran Church or the Minden Senior Citizen's Center both in Minden. Survivors include two sons, Larry Albers and his wife, Cynde of Knoxville, TN and Lloyd Albers of La Porte, TX; daughter, Vickie Feddersen of Hastings; two grandchildren, Derreck and Kendra; brother, Eldon Halm of Syracuse, NE and sister, Elda Boardman of Syracuse. She is preceded in death by her husband, Erwin, son in-law, Gary Feddersen and two brothers. Funeral services will be on Monday, August 15, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Minden with Rev. Donald Becker officiating. Burial will be in the Minden Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Layton-Craig Funeral Home in Minden on Sunday from 5-7 p.m.
