PETERSON, Michael “Mike”

Michael “Mike” Peterson, 53 years of age from Lincoln, formerly of Minden died on Tuesday, June 21, 2011 at Bryan LGH West in Lincoln. Mike was born on January 24, 1958 in Minden, Nebraska to Conrad and Patricia (McBride) Peterson. He grew up in the Minden area and graduated from Minden High School in 1976. He attended UNL and then returned to Minden and farmed in the area until moving to Norfolk in 2000 and later to Lincoln. While in Minden he was the treasurer for Hayes Township and also sold Crows seed corn. Mike enjoyed dirt biking, hunting, fishing, working in his shop, farming and camping. He was an avid Husker fan and loved spending time with his family and friends. Memorials are suggested to Hope Harbor in Grand Island, Nebraska. Survivors include daughter, Melissa DeLaet and her husband, Nathan of Grand Island; two sons, Grant Peterson of Superior and Tyler Peterson of Malcolm, NE; grandson, Keith DeLaet and sister, Mary Peterson of Alexandria, Virginia. He is preceded in death by his parents and grandparents. Funeral services will be on Saturday, June 25, 2011 at the United Methodist Church in Minden with Rev. Stuart Davis officiating.
