YOUNGSON, Evelyn

Evelyn Youngson, 91 years of age from Minden, Nebraska died on Friday, June 10, 2011 at the Bethany Home in Minden. Evelyn was born on August 21, 1919 in Kearney County, Nebraska, near Minden to John and Mary Katherine (Chantelaw) Andersen. Evelyn was baptized and confirmed at the Westminster United Presbyterian Church in Minden. She grew up in the Minden area and attended District #48 near Minden and later attended Minden High School. On February 18, 1942 she married Marlin “Mike” Youngson, and they lived and farmed near Minden for many years. They later moved to Kearney, and Evelyn moved to the Bethany Home in 2005. Evelyn was a member of the Westminster United Presbyterian Church in Minden. She enjoyed embroidery, fancy work, board games and playing Som R Set. Evelyn was from a large family and loved family gatherings. Survivors include three sisters, Helen Woollen of Wilcox, Luetta Bacon of Kearney and Patricia Erickson and her husband, Marland of Paola, KS; two brothers, Verlin Anderson and his wife, Beverly of Sarasota, FL and Roger Anderson and his wife, Patricia of Kearney. She is preceded in death by two brothers, Art and Al; and three sisters, Charlotte Snyder, Marilyn Macklin and Lois Johnson. Funeral services will be on Tuesday, June 14, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at the Westminster United Presbyterian Church in Minden with Don Canady officiating. Burial will be in the Fredericksburg Lutheran Cemetery south of Minden.
