John Grams, 86 year of age from Minden, Nebraska died on Thursday, June 2, 2011 at the Kearney County Health Services-Hospital in Minden. John was born on July 31, 1924 in Kearney County, Nebraska to John and Martha (Janke) Grams. He attended District 65 Sunnyside Rural School. John worked for farmers in the area, later working at Western Land Roller in Hastings and the Juniata Feed Yard. He was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Minden. John enjoyed spending time with his family and had a soft heart for his dogs. Survivors include four sisters, Hulda Smith of Kearney, Anna Martenson of Kearney, Julia “Judy” Corlis of Westminster, CO and Pauline Thornburg of Lexington; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, George Patrick, Chris Louis and William Walter; and one sister, Harriett Mabel Lambrecht. Funeral services will be on Tuesday, June 7, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Minden with Rev. Donald Becker officiating. Burial will be in the Minden Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Layton-Craig Funeral Home in Minden from 4-7 p.m. Memorial are suggested to the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Minden.
