HOLMES, Lynn

Lynn Holmes, 42 years of age from Minden, Nebraska died on Friday, May 27, 2011 at her home in Minden after a long battle with cancer. Lynn was born on June 30, 1967 in Minden to Don and Judy (Adams) Gilbert. She grew up in the Minden area and graduated from Minden High School in 1985. Lynn was a member of the First Christian Church in Minden where she was also a secretary for many years. She later went to work as a secretary at Bethany Home in Minden in 1998. Lynn was very active in “Relay for Life”; she enjoyed gardening, flowers, canning, needlework along with crocheting and knitting. Memorials are suggested to the Relay for Life or the Bethany Home in Minden. Survivors include her son, Travis Holl of Lincoln; parents, Don and Judy Gilbert of Minden; sister, Linda Darling of North Platte, niece and nephew, Lydia and Blake of North Platte; brother, Earl Gilbert and his wife, Lori of Kearney along with many other friends and family. Funeral services will be Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. at the First Christian Church in Minden with Pastor Jim Reier officiating. Burial will be in the Minden Cemetery.
