Jennie E. Hinrichs, 89 years of age from Hildreth, Nebraska died on Sunday, May 8, 2011 at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney. Jennie was born on October 10. 1921 in Franklin County, Nebraska to George and Emma (Lindau) Schurman. She attended rural school in Franklin County. Jennie married Clarence Bunger in July of 1939. They lived near Hildreth. Clarence died in 1950. On August 31, 1952 she married Elmer Hinrichs and they lived and farmed southwest of Hildreth. They moved into Hildreth in 1990. Jennie was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Hildreth. She enjoyed sewing, quilting gardening, canning and cooking. Her grandchildren all have one of her quilts made especially for them. Her family remembers the home made angel food cakes for birthdays in the family. A memorial fund has been established in her name. Survivors include her husband, Elmer of Hildreth; 3 daughters, Elona Hanson and her husband, Jerry of San Diego, CA, Pam Epley and her husband, Mike of Kearney and Bonnie Carraher and her husband, Ben of Franklin; 2 sons, Randy Hinrichs and his wife, Bert of Kearney and Terry Hinrichs and his wife, Brenda of Hildreth; 12 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren and one brother, Vic Schurman and his wife, Chris of Hastings. She is preceded in death by 6 sisters and 3 brothers. Funeral services will be on Wednesday, May 11, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Hildreth with Rev. Patti and Steve Byrne officiating. Burial will be in the St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery in Hildreth. Visitation will be at the Jelden-Craig Funeral Home in Hildreth on Tuesday from 3-5 & 7-8 p.m.
