Jeanette Jean Thompson Paulsen was born to Charles Thompson, Jr. and Dora (Ibsen) on November 6, 1937 in Minden. Jeanette died on Saturday, April 2, at the Bethany Home in Minden She grew up in the Upland area and graduated from Minden High School. Jeanette married Andrew Paulsen on December 26, 1955, in Reno, Nevada. They lived in Willets, CA, and Colorado Springs, CO, before moving to Minden, NE, in 1961. Jeanette was an active member of the Fredericksburg Lutheran Church south of Minden serving in many various positions through the years. She also served her community as a leader of Bluebirds, 4-H, Campfire, Cub, and Boy Scouts and was a member of the Minden Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary. Jeanette was an accomplished seamstress and did alterations for Cerie's, Vaughn's, and Rita's as well as many members of the community. Jeanette taught weekly painting classes and volunteered for the Minden Community Players making costumes and filling in wherever needed. She enjoyed sewing for babies and crafting including painting, quilting, croqueting, knitting, reading and being involved in all of her children's activities. Survivors include her husband, Andrew Paulsen, of Minden; daughter, Linda Worley and her husband, Lynn of Camdenton, MO; daughter, Susan Goedert of Henderson, NE; son, Donald Paulsen of Minden; son, Tony Paulsen and his wife Dawn of Gibbon, NE; and daughter, Pam Petersen and her husband, John, of McCool Junction, NE; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Her father, Charles; mother, Dora; twin sister, Janice Johnson; sister-in-law, Carolyn Thompson; and brother-in-laws, Gene Johnson and Richard Loskill precede her in death. Funeral services will be on Tuesday, April 5, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at the Fredericksburg Lutheran Church south of Minden with Rev. Nancy Cole officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be at the Layton-Craig Funeral Home in Minden on Monday from 3-6. Memorials are suggested to the Fredericksburg Lutheran Church.
