Phyllis E. Keiser, 85 years of age from Hildreth, NE died on Thursday, March 31, 2011 at her home in Hildreth. Phyllis was born on December 18, 1925 on the family farm southwest of Hildreth to William and Minnie (Albers) Harms. She was baptized and confirmed in the Christian faith. Phyllis graduated from Hildreth High School in 1943. On October 13, 1945 she married Halsey Keiser. To this union was born seven children. She was a member of the Keene Evangelical Free Church. Faith was an important part of her life, being active in Circle Bible Study groups, and attending Kearney Christian Women's Club faithfully. She was a charter member of the Hildreth Lioness club and a friend and supporter of the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Phyllis also enjoyed flower gardening and admiring the beauty of nature. She was a collector of frogs. Phyllis was loved and cherished by family and friends. She always had a listening ear and not only sympathy, but empathy for those facing trials and tribulations in their life. She will be deeply missed by many but especially by her children and grandchildren who were so dear to her heart. Her grandchildren always called her the “best Granny in the Business.” And she will have open arms waiting for her as she enters heaven's door not only by her Heavenly Father but her loved ones who have gone before. Survivors include three daughters, Pamela Nunns and her husband, Keith of Geneva, Cindy Courtney of Sioux City, IA and Brenda Hemje of Hildreth; two sons, Timothy Keiser of Hildreth and his special friend, Nancy Brown of Hastings and Kerry Keiser of Kearney; 12 grandchildren, Krista, Jennifer, Kari and her husband, Troy, Jeff, Brent, KaDee, Jessica and her specials friend, Eric, Ginger and her husband, Andy, Beau, Blake, Bronson and Brooks; 14 great grandchildren and Goddaughter, Rhonda Rae Jurgens. She is preceded in death by her husband, Halsey, two sons, Ric and Dan, son in-law, Steve Hemje and two grandchildren, Casey and Jill Hemje. Celebration of Life services will be held on Monday, April 4, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the Keene Evangelical Church in Keene, Nebraska with Rev. Matthew Snell officiating. Burial will be at the Hildreth Cemetery at 9:30 a.m. Jelden-Layton Funeral in Hildreth is in charge of arrangements. There will be no visitation.
