Luanne Johnson, 77 years of age from Minden, Nebraska died on Sunday, February 27, 2011 at the Bethany Home in Minden. Luanne was born on June 17, 1933 in Minden to Chester and Martha (Borgaard) Christensen. She grew up in the Minden area and graduated from Minden High School in 1951. On October 21, 1951 she married Roger W. Johnson and they made their home in Holdrege for 13 years. In 1964 they moved to Minden. Luanne worked as a waitress in Holdrege and then at the Pioneer Village Restaurant in Minden. Later, Luanne managed the Shop-Ez Convenience Store in Minden. She retired in 1999. Luanne was a long-standing member of the First Christian Church in Minden. She enjoyed being involved with the youth of the community and loved spending time with all her friends and family. She was an avid sports fan, especially Husker Football. Memorials are suggested to the First Christian Church or the Bethany Home both of Minden. Survivors include her husband, Roger of Minden; son, Matt Johnson and his wife, Jan of Hampton, NE; two daughters, Deb Olson and her husband, Phil of Minden and Sarah Scott and her husband, Mike; of Lakin, KS; seven grandchildren, Scott Olson and his wife, Jennipher, Luke and Libby Johnson, Brett Johnson, and Jordan, Jadyn and Bradyn Scott; two great grandchildren, Landon and Ryley Olson; mother in-law, Dorothy Johnson of Minden; brother, Norris Christensen of Minden; two brothers in-law, Gary Johnson and Larry Johnson; three sisters in-law, Pat Osborne and her husband, Keith, Barb Bartek and her husband, Don and Marilyn Langemeier and her husband, Leon and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, father in-law, J. W. Johnson, mother in-law, Vera Johnson, two sisters in-law, Rita Johnson and Norma Christensen and nephew Jim Christensen. Memorial services will be on Wednesday, March 2, 2011 at 2:30 p.m. at the First Christian Church in Minden with Rev. Richard Bacon officiating. Burial will be prior to the memorial service. Visitation will be at the Layton-Craig Funeral Home in Minden on Tuesday from 5-7 p.m.
