John L. "Fuzzy"
John L. (Fuzzy) Zoeller, 81, Minden, Nebraska, passed away February 10, 2011. John was born July 1, 1929 in Wamego, KS to Henry and Violet Burgess Zoeller. He attended Strong School and Sacred Heart Academy in Manhattan, Kansas. He was in business with his father in Zoeller Transfer and owned and operated Texaco stations. John married Betty Leah Long on August 13, 1949 who preceded him in death on April 11, 1993. From this union they were blessed with four daughters, Kathy, Janet, Victoria and Lori. In 1963, the family moved to Prairie Village, KS where John pursued his love of flying and sold small aircraft. In 1980, John and Betty moved to Manhattan, Kansas where he was a car salesman for many years. His love of flying is something he shared with his family. On July 4, 1997 John married Glennie Peterson of Minden, NE. They lived in Manhattan and Wamego, KS before moving to Minden, NE in 2004. He is survived by his wife, Glennie of Minden, sister Gloria Dierks and husband "Cap" of Ewing, NE sisters-in-law; Laverne Knight and her husband Bud of Manhattan, Mary Zoeller of Manhattan, KS Jo Zoeller of Topeka, KS, and Phyllis Long; brother-in-law Doug Long and his wife Jenna of Manhattan; four daughters, Kathy Loftin and husband Jim of Lenexa, KS, Janet Stark and husband Don of Louisburg, KS, Victoria Pener and husband Gary of Overland Park, KS and Lori Gasaway and husband Bill of Olathe, KS. He is also survived by three stepchildren, Tim Peterson and Jane Boeka of Omaha, Kris Tophoj and her husband Brad of Grand Island and Dena Beck and her husband David of Minden. Fuzzy will be lovingly remembered by 20 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Violet Zoeller, wife Betty Leah Long and brothers Donald and Dr. Robert Zoeller. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, February 12, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. at the St. John's Catholic Church in Minden with Father Nicolas Baker officiating. No visitation. Another Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, February 19th, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. at Seven Dolors Catholic Church in Mahanttan, KS. Memorials are suggested to either church.
