Funeral Services were held 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, February 11, 1997 at Higby Mortuary. Interment was held in the St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery in Kronborg, Nebraska. OBITUARY: Helen Anderson Helen Martha Anderson, the daughter of James and Minnie (Haggard) Cain, was born on January 12, 1900 at Stella, Nebraska, and died on February 8, 1997 at Aurora, Nebraska, at the age of 97 years and 26 days. Her early years were spent at Stella, and she graduated from Omaha Central High School in 1919. She then attended and graduated from the University of Nebraska in 1923 with a Bachelor of Arts degree. She taught kindergarten in the Omaha public schools from 1924 to 1934. On June 12, 1934, she was united in marriage to Lewis Anderson at Omaha. They lived in Omaha, then Sidney, Nebraska, and moved to Los Angeles in 1936 and Long Beach in 1939. Her husband preceded her in death on February 19, 1993. She moved to the Hamilton Manor in Aurora in April of 1994. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 1 sister Caroline Hanson, and 2 brothers who died as children. Those who remain to cherish her memory are 1 sister Ruth Winegar of Temple, Texas, and nieces and nephews.
