Elaine Anderson, age 85, died Monday, July 28, 2008, at the Hamilton Manor in Aurora.
Graveside Services will be held at 10:30 P.M., Friday, August 1st at the Aurora Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 – 8 P.M. Thursday at Higby-McQuiston Mortuary. Condolences may be e-mailed to the family through the mortuary website at www.higbymortuary.com.
OBITUARY: ELAINE ANDERSON
Elaine Maxine Anderson, the daughter of Henry Arthur and Ermyl Delores (Fogland) Roark, was born in Central City, Nebraska on January 29, 1923 and died in Aurora, Nebraska on July 28, 2008, at the age of 85.
She attended Central City Public Schools, where she went on to graduate from Central City High School. Elaine worked at Besteds in high school and enlisted in the U. S. Army in 1944. She was stationed in Mississippi and North Carolina.
On June 14, 1947, she was united in marriage to Marion ‘Bud’ Anderson at Central City. Elaine worked at McDonald’s Clothing in Central City, the Cornhusker Ammunition Plant in Grand Island and was a cook at the Aurora High School. Bud passed away on November 14, 1991.
Elaine was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church in Aurora. She liked to needle point, sew and do crossword puzzles.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband; son, Larry Anderson, grandson, Tyler Thomas Anderson and a brother, Tom Roark.
Those left to cherish her memory are her son Tom Anderson of Aurora; daughter-in-law, Roxie Anderson of Omaha; 4 grandchildren, Matt (Jen) Anderson of Jacksonville, Florida, Amber Anderson of Lincoln, Kim Anderson of Lincoln and Cole Anderson of Lincoln and a sister, Rogene C. Howe of Central City.
