Delmar Anderson, age 81, of Aurora, died Thursday night, July 18, 2002, at St. Francis Hospital in Grand Island.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Monday, July 22, 2002 at the United Methodist Church in Aurora. Rev. Seth Leypoldt will officiate. Interment will be in the Aurora Cemetery. OBITUARY: DELMAR ANDERSON
Delmar Dale Anderson, the son of Alfred William and Inez M. (Fowler) Anderson, was born on the family farm in Hamilton County, Nebraska on September 13, 1920 and died in Grand Island, Nebraska on July 18, 2002, at the age of 81 years.
Delmar attended country school through the 8th grade and then graduated from Marquette High School in 1938. After graduating he went to Denver and worked at Gates Rubber Company, where he met Iris in 1939.
Delmar was united in marriage to Iris Nadine Foland on August 28, 1942 at St. Francis, Kansas. In the Spring of 1943, they moved to a farm near Marquette, where Delmar began farming. They lived on the farm until 1966, when they moved to Aurora, although Delmar continued farming until recently. In addition to his farming duties over the years, Delmar worked at the Grand Island Ordinance Plant for several years and was a school bus driver for the Aurora School District for over 20 years. Iris passed away in 1993.
Delmar was a member of the Aurora United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and two sisters, Dorothy McCumber and Phyllis Anderson.
Those left to cherish his memory are his three children, Wendell Anderson and his wife Nette of Pryor, Oklahoma, Marlon Anderson and his wife Connie of Eureka, Missouri and Debbie Zachry of North Platte; 10 grandchildren and special friend, Dorothy Beyer of Grand Island.
