Funeral Services were held 2:00 P.M., Friday, March 24, 1989 at Higby Mortuary. Interment was held in the Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Grand Island, Nebraska. OBITUARY: Cecil Anderson Cecil I. “Dutch” Anderson, the son of William and Winifred (Wilson) Anderson, was born at Burwell, Nebraska, on April 1, 1903, and passed away at Aurora, Nebraska, on March 20, 1989, at the age of 85 years, 11 months and 19 days. He grew up in Burwell and attended school there. He lived in Burwell and worked at several jobs. On June 26, 1922, he was united in marriage to Jessie Anderson at Burwell. She preceded him in death on May 14, 1978. In 1940, they moved to Grand Island and he worked as a conductor on the Union Pacific Railroad, retiring in 1965. In 1980, he moved to Aurora, and for the past 3 ½ years has resided at the Hamilton Manor in Aurora. “Dutch” was a member of the United Congregational Church in Grand Island, and also belonged to the Eagles Club. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one son Billy, in World War II, and brothers, Cecil, Ray and Carl. Those who remain to cherish his memory are his 2 sons, Jack of Lincoln and R. Max of North Platte; 3 sisters, Fay Douglas, Elsie Phillips and Rosella Graber, all of Aurora; 9 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
