Funeral Services were held 2:00 P.M., Monday, May 19, 1986 at the Aurora United Methodist Church. Interment was held in the Aurora Cemetery.
OBITUARY: Carl W. Anderson
Carl Wilson Anderson, the son of Wilson and Winifred (Wilson) Anderson, was born at Ballagh, Nebraska, on September 12, 1901, and passed away at his home in Aurora, Nebraska, on May 15, 1986, at the age of 84 years, 8 months, and 3 days.
In 1902 the family moved to Burwell, Nebraska where he attended public school and graduated from high school.
He went to work for the C B & Q Railroad, and had 5 years of station service, and in 1922 he went into train service.
On July 3, 1929, he was united in marriage to Helen Speedie at Ainsworth, Nebraska. In 1959 they moved to Aurora and in 1967, he retired from the C B & Q Railroad as a conductor.
Carl was a member of the Aurora United Methodist Church and belonged to the Aurora Masonic Lodge # 68 A.F. & A.M. and received his 50 year pin on January 8, 1980. On June 10, 1985 he was presented the Jordan Medal for the lodge’s oldest member.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, Cecil and Ray, and one great grandchild.
Those who remain to cherish his memory are his wife, Helen; 2 sons, Richard of Livingston, Montana and Robert of Guernsey, Wyoming; one brother C.I. “Dutch” Anderson of Aurora; 3 sisters, Fay Douglas, Elsie Phillips and Rosella Graber, all of Aurora; 6 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, and other relatives and close friends.
