Funeral Services were held 10:00 A.M., Monday, September 27, 1993 at the Aurora Evangelical Covenant Church. Interment was held in the Aurora Cemetery.
OBITUARY: Alice Anderson
Alice Myrtle Anderson, the daughter of Pearl and Armina (Young) Lord, was born December 4, 1911, at Thurman, Colorado, and died at Aurora, Nebraska, on September 22, 1993, at the age of 81 years, 9 months, and 18 days.
She grew up in the Flagler, Colorado area, and graduated from Flagler High School, where she played on the girls state championship basketball team, attended college in Colorado for 2 years, and began teaching school for 12 terms in Colorado.
On June 23, 1936, she was united in marriage to Oscar Anderson at Aurora, Nebraska. After their marriage they operated a photography business in Colorado, and then they moved to Aurora, Nebraska, where they farmed for 12 years. They operated the Frontier Café on Highway 34 in Aurora for 2 years before she began her 20 year career at the Welfare Office in Aurora. Oscar preceded her in death on December 22, 1980.
Alice was an active member of the Aurora Evangelical Covenant Church and Covenant Women, and for the past 16 years she has been involved with the church activities.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 4 brothers, George, Lester, Robert, and Lewis Ford, and 2 sisters Ruby Brandenburger and Beula Bower.
Those who remain to cherish her memory are her son, Ronald of Sarasota, Florida; one daughter, Joyce Dolton of Omaha; 2 sisters, Maxine Bitterman of Denver, Colorado and Ruth Stelle of Wrightsville, Pennsylvania; 6 grandchildren, Tami Jo Reynolds of Clarksville, Tennessee, John, Joseph, Mary, Mark and Ann Dolton, all of Omaha; and 2 sister-in-laws, Edythe Snyder and Phyllis Anderson, both of Aurora, nieces and nephews and friends.
