STAUFFER, Marvin D.


Marvin D. Stauffer, 91, of Fremont died Monday, Oct. 15, 2012, in his apartment. Marvin was born Jan. 16, 1921, on a farm near Page, where he grew up. He graduated from high school in Page in 1938. He attended the University of Nebraska in Lincoln for two winters taking agricultural courses. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps from September 1942 to November 1945. He farmed in the O’Neill area most of his working years, then in his retirement years he sold farm machinery. He came to Fremont seven years ago. He had been active in the Methodist Church in Page. He helped organize the farm bureau in Holt County. He had been a 4-H leader and a member of the Boots & Saddle Club in O’Neill. He is survived by his special friend, Coralee Holtz, four children and three stepchildren, a niece, two nephews and a sister-in-law. He was preceded in death by a brother and his parents. A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Ludvigsen Mortuary Chapel in Fremont. The U.S. flag presentation will be by the Fremont Honor Guard of American Legion Post 20 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 854. Memorials are suggested to the Fremont Friendship Center.
