BURSON, Harry Eugene


Harry Eugene Burson, 77, of Grand Island died Monday March 21, 2005, at St. Francis Medical Center. Graveside services will be at 2:30 P.M. Thursday at Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Jim Craft will officiate. There will be no visitation. Cremation was provided through Westlawn Crematory. Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Burson was born January 28, 1928, west of Ord on his grandfather’s homestead to Ralph and Bessie (Fryzek) Burson. Survivors of the immediate family include his wife, Pauline of Grand Island; two daughters and a son-in-law, Patty Schamp of Aurora and Joyce and Butch Killham of Grand Island; four sons and three daughters-in-law, David and Nancy Burson of Giltner, Steve and Yong Sin Burson of Seoul, South Korea, Luke and Louise Burson of Elba and Samuel Burson of Aurora, a sister and brother-in-law, Delores and John Wray of North Loup. Additional survivors include 19 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and a special pet, Rush. Harry received his education at Ord. Following his education, he served in the U.S. Army from 1950 to 1952. He married Pauline Kearns on November 23, 1953, at North Loup. Harry began work at Giltner Co-op in 1965. He became manager in 1974 and was employed there until 1979. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Betty Hampton and one brother, Dale Burson.
