Elsie M. Krueger, 98, of Grand Island, died Sunday, March 20, 2005 at the Nye Pointe Health & Rehabilitation Center in Fremont.
Funeral services will be on Wednesday at 2:00 P.M. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. The Rev. Randy Fett will officiate.
Burial will be at the Grand Island City Cemetery.
Visitation will be on Tuesday from 4:00 until 8:00 P.M. at Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home.
Elsie Moeller Krueger was born on July 29, 1906 in Hall County to Fred and Minnie (Rauert) Moeller.
Survivors of the immediate family include one daughter and son-in-law, DeEtte & Norman Ewbank of Taylor, Michigan; one son and daughter-in-law, Bruce & Kaylene Krueger of Arlington, Nebraska.
Additional survivors include one granddaughter, Tamara Howes of Townsend, Mass.; four grandsons, Gregory and wife Laureen Ewbank of Northville, Michigan, Sean and wife Krista Ewbank of Mandeville, La., Michael Krueger of Herman, NE. and Robert and wife Annie Krueger of Arlington, NE.; five great-grandchildren, Tina, Laura, Holly, & Reece Krueger, and Abigail Ewbank.
Mrs. Krueger grew up on the family farm north of Grand Island. She attended District 7 West Elementary School and was a 1924 graduate of Grand Island High School.
She worked as a secretary in the office of the principal of the High School for one year, and then as secretary in the office of the District Plant Superintendent of the Northwestern Bell Telephone Company.
She married Curt G. Krueger on June 21, 1930 in Grand Island. They continued to live in Grand Island. Her husband preceded her in death in December 1975.
Elsie was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Grand Island, a Past Matron of Andrew Chapter #41 and received her 50 year pin in January of 2004. She was Past Grand Representative of the Order of the Eastern Star, Naaman Temple #108. She was also a member of the Daughters of the Nile, and an Associated Member of the Telephone Pioneers.
She had also done volunteer work for the American Red Cross and was active in her church and Girl Scouts.
One brother, George Moeller preceded her in death.
