KORTH, Phyllis Jane

Phyllis Jane (Brandenburg) Korth, 76, of Grand Island, died Friday, March 4, 2005 at the Wedgewood Care Center in Grand Island. Funeral services will be on Tuesday at 10:00 A.M. at Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home. Captain Jeff Richardson will officiate. Burial will be at the Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be on Monday from 4:00 until 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Mrs. Korth was born on June 6, 1928 in Archer, Nebraska to John and Sylvia (Gries) Brandenburg. Survivors of the immediate family include two daughters and son-in-law, Sheila Kay Robertson & Lee Hauptmeier of Grand Island, and Linda Sue Coons of Grand Island; one son and daughter-in-law, Thomas & Sheryl Dexter of Grand Island; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Betty & Butch Butcher of Clarks, Ione & John Zabava of Lincoln; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Earl & Kay Brandenburg of Council Bluffs, and Cliff & Kathy Brandenburg of Des Moines. Additional survivors include 8 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and 5 great-great grandchildren. Phyllis received her education in Archer. She was employed as a waitress and bartender in Grand Island. She enjoyed doing yard work, gardening, collecting salt & pepper shakers, and coffee mugs. She loved spending time with her family. Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Betty Kucera; one granddaughter, Yolanda Kucera; one grandson, Jeff Robertson; one son-in-law, Henry Coons; three brothers, John, Glenn and Leo Brandenburg; and two sisters, Leta Brandenburg, and Vera Lawson.
