GUTSHOW, Della Mae

Della Mae Gutshow, 69, of Wood River, died Saturday morning, February 19, 2005 at St. Francis Medical Center. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 23, 2005 at 10:00 A.M. from the chapel of Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Quandt officiating. Burial will be in the Grand Island City Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4-8 P.M. with the family present to receive friends. Memorials are suggested to Mosaic. Della was born September 30, 1935 in rural Hall County near Grand Island the daughter of Criss and Majorie (Miller) Gutschow. She grew up on the family farm and attended rural Hall county school. In 1983 she moved into Grand Island and lived with her brother. In 1994 she moved to Wood River and lived with her caregivers Page and her son Andrew Denman and Veronica and her son Steven Soto. She worked at the Mosaic and did volunteer work delivering commodities. She enjoyed the Grand Generation Center swimming at the YMCA. Della is survived by 1brother and 5 sisters; Donna Jean and her husband Ivan Burson of Central City, Betty Ann and her husband Walt Duester of Rockville, Lester of Rockville, Clara Jane and her husband Richard Larkin of Grand Island, Hazel Bartlett of Grand Island, and Karen and her husband Robert Hawkin of Little Rock, Arkansas. Also left to cherish her memory is her guardian Mary Babel of Wood River. She was preceded in death by her parents and an infant brother Gordon.
