MCLAUGHLIN, Mary H.

Mary H. McLaughlin, 93, of Grand Island, died Monday, January 17, 2005 at her home. Funeral services will be on Thursday at 2:00 P.M. at Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home. The Rev. Tom Ryan will officiate. A rosary will be recited at 1:30 P.M. prior to the service. Burial will be at the Grand Island City Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Mrs. McLaughlin was born on February 14, 1911 at Cozad, Nebraska to George and Agnes (Harran) Arthurs. Survivors include numerous nieces and nephews. In 1915, the family moved to Kearney, and Mary graduated from Kearney High School. She then attended the University of Nebraska where she was affiliated with Pi Beta Phi Sorority. She married Francis L. McLaughlin on February 4, 1947 in Kearney. Mrs. McLaughlin enjoyed traveling and reading. She was a member of St. Mary’s Cathedral. Mary was preceded in death by her husband in January 2004, her parents, and two brothers, Roy and Leo Arthurs.
