Lillian Partaka, 90, of Grand Island, died Friday, January 7, 2005 at the Wedgewood Care Center in Grand Island.
Funeral services will be on Tuesday at 2:00 P.M. at Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home. The Rev. Jerry Quandt will officiate.
Burial will be at the Grand Island City Cemetery.
Visitation will be on Monday from 5:00 until 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Partaka was born on June 10, 1914 at Grand Island to Herman and Mathilda (Krueger) Ewoldt.
Survivors of the immediate family include two sons and daughter-in-law, Donald & Terry Partaka of Grand Island, and Robert Partaka of Grand Island; one brother, Dan Ewoldt of Grand Island; two sisters, Lorraine Bernhardt of Wichita, Kansas, and Maxine Eggleston of California.
Additional survivors include seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Partaka received her education at a rural school south of Grand Island.
She was employed by doing housework for people.
She married Edward Partaka on June 19, 1940 in Grand Island. The couple lived in Chapman until 1944, when they moved to St. Paul. Mr. Partaka died in 1975, and Mrs. Partaka stayed in St. Paul until 1978, when she moved to Grand Island.
She enjoyed sewing, gardening, and loved listening to polka music.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Caroline Bentzinger; three brothers, Rudy, Carl & Ed Ewoldt, and one sister, Eloise Ewoldt.
