MALONEY, Barbara

Barbara Maloney, 50, of New York City, formerly of Grand Island, died Thursday, Dec. 23, 2004, at the New York Presbyterian Hospital-Cornell Medical Center in New York City. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home in Grand Island. The Rev. Phil Flott will officiate. Burial will be in the Grand Island City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Ms. Maloney was born Sept. 11, 1954, in Grand Island to Thomas Stanton and Elayne (Mester) Maloney. Survivors of the immediate family include her sister, Suanne Maloney of Aviano Air Force Base, Italy. Barbara was raised in Grand Island and graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1972. She then attended the University of Nebraska at Omaha, where she received her nursing degree. She then received her bachelor's degree from Columbia University in New York City. Barbara was employed as the assistant head nurse of cardio-thoracic intensive care at New York Presbyterian Hospital-Cornell Medical Center in New York City. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Thomas.
