SCHOEL, Gladys V.

Gladys V. Schoel, 79, of Grand Island, died Tuesday, December 7, 2004 at the Skilled Care Unit of St. Francis Medical Center. Funeral services will be on Thursday at 2:30 P.M. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. The Rev. Joel Schroeder will officiate. Burial will be at the Grand Island City Cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 4:00 until 8:00 P.M. at Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home Mrs. Schoel was born on July 20, 1925 at Grand Island, Nebraska to Herman and Minnie (Schimmer) Scheel. Survivors of the immediate family include one son and daughter-in-law, Jerome & Brenda Schoel of Salina, Kansas; and a son-in-law Don Tracy and his wife Sharon of Grand Island. Additional survivors include six grandchildren, Tina Schoel, Alisha Schoel, Jon Schoel, Angela Jones, Bonnie Tracy, and Jennifer Galvan; seven great-grandchildren; and one brother, Lawrence Scheel of Grand Island. Mrs. Schoel attended District #28 south of Grand Island. She married Keith F. Schoel on June 8, 1947 in Grand Island. She was employed as a cook at the Platte-Duetsche, Eagles, Liederkranz, and the Elks. She enjoyed playing cards, and spending time with her grandchildren. Mrs. Schoel was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and the Platte-Duetsche Ladies Society. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Keith in 1993, her daughter, Diane Tracy in 1993, and by her brother, Roy Scheel.
