Elnora I. Harrison, 96, of Grand Island died Sunday, October 17, 2004, at Tiffany Square Care Center in Grand Island. Services will be at 10:30 A.M. Thursday at the First Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Ray Schroeder will officiate. Burial will be in the Grand Island City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 P.M. Wednesday at Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home with family greeting friends from 4 to 6:30 P.M. Mrs. Harrison was born May 17, 1908, at Phillips, NE to Charles F. and Annabelle (Mapes) Detamore. Survivors of the immediate family are three daughters and sons-in-law, Marilyn and Harlan Bloomquist of Grand Island, Cheryl and Douglas Jensen of Grand Island and Patricia and William McClellan of Hollis, NJ; one son and daughter-in-law, R. Lou and Faythe Harrison of Omaha; and one sister, Arlene Mattson of Rapid City, SD. Additional survivors include nine grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Elnora grew up and attended school in Phillips. She graduated from Phillips High School in 1926. She married Horton A. Harrison on December 31, 1930, at Hastings. They lived in Phillips, then in Wood River for a short time before moving to Grand Island in 1944. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and was named as an honorary member in the Program Agency of the National Office of the United Presbyterian Church in 1983. She was also a longtime member of the Royal Neighbors of America. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1982.
