DAILY, Elvera M.

Elvera M. Daily, 83, of Grand Island, died Wednesday, October 6, 2004, at the Nebraska Heart Institute in Lincoln. Services will be at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, at the Gollaher Chapel of Trinity United Methodist Church. The Rev. Del Roper and Pastor Todd Daily will officiate. Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 P.M. Friday at Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home. Mrs. Daily was born April 1, 1921, at Campbell, NE to Fred and Alice Betz. Survivors of the immediate family include one son and daughter-in-law, Del and Mary Daily of Augusta, KS; and one daughter and son-in-law, Jolene and Kelly Schade of Grand Island. Additional survivors include 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. Elvera grew up in Campbell and graduated from Campbell High School in 1938. She married Gordon H. Daily on June 29, 1941, at Campbell. They lived in Hastings until moving to Grand Island in 1951. She worked in the hot lunch program at Barr Junior High School for over 12 years. She worked in the Skagway Deli for over 7 years. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. Elvera was an avid square dancer for over 27 years. She enjoyed camping, crossword puzzles and Husker football. She especially liked being with her family and many special friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon; one daughter, Eileen Dills; five sisters; and two brothers.
