Marvin L. ‘Bub’ Johnson, 74, of Grand Island died Friday, September 24, 2004, at his home. Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday at Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home. The Rev. Terry Brown will officiate. Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 P.M. Monday at the funeral home. Mr. Johnson was born August 16, 1930, at Broken Bow to Andrew and Frances (Govier) Johnson. Immediate survivors include his wife, Bunny of Grand Island; one son, Rex Johnson of Grand Island; two daughters and son-in-law, Belinda and Bill Lucas of Grand Island and Cindy Ortega of Grand Island; two brothers, Jim and Gilbert Johnson both of Grand Island; one sister, Ellen Payne of St. Paul; three brothers-in-law; and three sisters-in-law. Additional survivors are six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; five nephews and four nieces. He is also survived by his beloved cat, Sheila. ‘Bub’ grew up and attended school in Grand Island. He married Bunny Farrow on June 10, 1950. He worked a number of years for the City of Grand Island and then worked 26 years as a security guard at the Nebraska Veteran’s Home. He loved animals and enjoyed hunting and fishing. ‘Bub’ was a generous man who was always there for everyone.
