ZOUCHA, Barbara J.

Barbara J. Zoucha, 63, of Grand Island, died Monday, August 23, 2004 at her home. Memorial services will be on Wednesday at 10:00 A.M. at Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home. The Rev. Scott Jones will officiate. Mrs. Zoucha was cremated, and there will be no visitation. Barbara was born on June 29, 1941 in St. Louis, Missouri to Norval E. and Viola M. (Garvey) Burgess. Survivors of the immediate family include her husband, Edwin ‘Sonny’ Zoucha of Grand Island; three daughters, Marybeth Castelli of Troy, Missouri, Barbie Sachs of Columbia, Missouri, and Elizabeth Gibson of Bowling Green, Missouri; a step-daughter, Tammy Thebeau of BonneTerre, Missouri; four sisters, Carolyn Taylor of St. Charles, Missouri, Nancy DeGarmo on Coco, Florida, Diana Norris of Rolla, Missouri, and Diane Sonier of Bonita Springs, Florida; and one brother, Charles Smith of North Carolina. Additional survivors include 13 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Mrs. Zoucha was raised in St. Louis and received her education there. She lived in Texas and Ohio before moving to Fullerton, Nebraska in 1980. She then moved to Grand Island in 1986. She married Edwin ‘Sonny’ Zoucha on April 5, 1988. Mrs. Zoucha was employed at the Nebraska Veterans Home. She was preceded in death by her parents, and one daughter, Jamie Paige Jones-Feger.
