Viola M. Meyer, 89, of Grand Island died Friday, July 30, 2004, at Tiffany Square Care Center. Funeral services will be at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday at Trinity Lutheran Church. The Rev. Robert Harms will officiate. A family prayer service will be at 1:45 P.M. Tuesday in the church chapel. Burial will be in the Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 P.M. Monday at Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home. Mrs. Meyer was born October 29, 1914, at Chapman to Adolph and Margaretha (Ruge) Bove. Viola grew up and attended school in Chapman, graduating from Chapman High School in 1933. She married Arnold W. Meyer on May 21, 1933. She and her husband farmed and in 1949 they started Meyer Farm Equipment which they owned and operated until 1988. They also farmed in Nevada from 1964 to 1987. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and the Ruth Society. Viola enjoyed cooking, flowers and gardening. She especially enjoyed time spent with her family and friends. Immediate survivors include one son, Jerry Meyer of Thailand; two daughters and a son-in-law, Carol Grimminger of Grand Island, and Barbara and Richard Gillham of Doniphan. Additional survivors include 10 grandchildren and their spouses,Debra and Michael Husman of Chapman, NE, Stephanie and Wendell Cooper of Central City, NE, Rick and Debbie Gillham of Grand Island, Richelle and Jeff Kitchen of Marshall, Texas, Laura and Doug Hermance of Santa Maria, Calif., Rebecca Gillham of Lincoln, NE, Jennifer and Craig Boehlke of Shreveport, Louisiana, Ann and Vern Muhlbach of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Marc and Lisa Grimminger of Lincoln, NE and Kurt and Tonya Grimminger of Plano, Texas; 21 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold in 1996; six sisters, Ella Winburn, Clara Vieth, Olga Scheel, Alma Cavendor, Minnie Tatreau and Mary Meier; and five brothers, Henry Bove, Max Bove, Edward Baumeister, Herman Baumeister and August Baumeister.
