Manuel Rivera, Sr., 92, of Kearney, died Tuesday evening at his home. Funeral services will be at 10:00 A.M. Friday at St. Mary’s Cathedral in Grand Island. The Rev. Phil Flott will officiate. Burial will be in the Grand Island City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 P.M. Thursday with a 7 P.M. rosary at Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home in Grand Island. Mr. Rivera was born June 15, 1912, at Chihuahua, Mexico to Joe R. and Pauline Rivera. Survivors of the immediate family include seven daughters and sons-in-law, Rosemary Torres of Grand Island, Megdaline and Lloyd Cash of Kearney, Victoria Deras of Kearney, Lucy and Lupe Pacheco of Kearney, Helen and Delbert Bickford of Kearney, Elizabeth and Henry Vega of Grand Island and Lisa and Mario Alba of Grand Island; three sons and daughter-in-law, Joe and Dorothy Rivera of Grand Island, Paul Rivera of Kearney and Manuel Rivera, Jr. of Kearney; one brother and sister-in-law, Frank and Mary Rivera of Grand Island. Additional survivors include 37 grandchildren and 44 great-grandchildren. Mr. Rivera was preceded in death by his wife, Angeline; one son, Reynoldo Rivera; and two daughters, Virginia Mancilla and Gracie Rivera.
