LUCAS, Ellen L.

Ellen L. Lucas, 80, of Grand Island, died Sunday, July 11, 2004 at the Nebraska Veterans Home. Funeral services will be on Friday at 10:00 A.M. at Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home. The Rev. Gary Schulte will officiate. Burial will be at the Grand Island City Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday from 8:00 A.M. until service time at the funeral home. Mrs. Lucas was born on September 23, 1923 in Mason City, Nebraska. Survivors of the immediate family include her husband, Arthur of Grand Island; three sons, Harold Lucas of Waterloo, Iowa, Larry Lucas and Jim Lucas both of Grand Island. Additional survivors include six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She married Arthur Lucas on May 9, 1947 in Phillipsburg, Kansas. Mrs. Lucas was a homemaker. She has been a resident at the Nebraska Veterans Home with her husband since February, 2004. She was a member of the Salvation Army. She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Raymond, and three sisters, Ruby, Pauline, and Lucille.
