HENNINGS, Harold H.


Harold H. Hennings, 86 of Grand Island died Wednesday, May 12, 2004, at St. Francis Medical Center. Services will be at 2:00 P.M. Saturday at St. Pauls Lutheran Church. The Rev. Joel Schroeder will officiate. Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 4 to 8 P.M. with family greeting friends from 4 to 6 P.M. at Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home. Mr. Hennings was born April 28, 1918, at Grand Island to Peter and Frieda (Muhs) Hennings. Survivors of the immediate family include his wife, Louise of Grand Island; three sons and daughters-in-law, Gene Hennings of Maricopa, Ariz., Lonell and Kelly Hennings of Cheyenne, Wyo. and Brad and Diane Hennings of Frisco, Tex.; and one sister, Edna Rehder of Grand Island. Additional survivors include seven grandchildren, Cortney Klein, Sean Hennings, Jennifer Kirkpatrick, Ashlie Hennings, Dietric Hennings, Hans Hennings and Brian Hennings; and two great-grandchildren, Nash and Shaw Klein. Harold married Louise Luebbe on April 19, 1942, at St. Pauls Lutheran Church. They lived on their farm just east of Alda enjoying 36 years there. They retired to Grand Island in 1978. Harold and Louise had been married 62 years. He was a member of St. Pauls Lutheran Church, the Platt Duetsche Society, Fraternal Order of Eagles and B.P.O. Elks. He was preceded in death by one sister, Wilma Hennings and one brother, Edwin Hennings. Memorials are suggested to St. Pauls Lutheran Church.
