Annie Marie Andersen, age 89, passed away at Aurora Memorial Hospital, on April 21, 2002.
Services will be held on Thursday, April 25 at 2:00 P.M. at the St John's Lutheran Church in Kronborg. Pastor Pam Cuilla will officiate. Interment will be at the Aurora Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Higby-McQuiston Mortuary, Wednesday, April 24, from 3:00 to 8:00 P.M. Condolences may be e-mailed to the family through the mortuary website at higbymortuary.com.
OBITUARY: ANNIE MARIE ANDERSEN
Annie Marie Andersen, the daughter of Peter and Anna (Hansen) Rasmussen born in Kronborg Nebraska on November 12, 1912 and died in Aurora Nebraska on April 21, 2002 at the age of 89 years.
Annie was raised in the Marquette area and attended a rural country school near Marquette.
She was united in marriage to Rueben Andersen in Norton, Kansas on November 12, 1932 and moved to Furnas County, later moving back to the Marquette Area. She was a homemaker and also worked at the ordinance plant from 1950 to 1955. She moved into Aurora in 1989 and entered East Park Villa in 2001, where she resided until her death.
Annie was confirmed in St. Johns Church in Kronborg and was a member of the Women's Quilter and Sew & Sew Fellowship. She was also in the Marquette and Aurora Senior Group. She enjoyed sewing and counted cross stitch. Spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren was a favorite pastime. She also enjoyed cards, dominoes, bingo and traveling.
Annie was preceded in death by her mother, father and step-mother who raised her, her husband Reuben, sons Roger and Ronald, brothers: Axel Rasmussen and Harry Rasmussen and two great-grandchildren.
Survivors include two sons, Robert and his wife Jean of Moorhead Minnesota, Raymond and wife Karen of Marquette; Janet Andersen daughter-in-law of Aurora; two sisters, Martha Ortegren of Vandalia, Illinois and Signe Nissen of Hampton; 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and 3 foster great-grandchildren.
