AMEND, Harold Adam


Funeral Services were held 10:30 A.M., Tuesday, March 18, 1997 at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Hampton. Interment was held in the Aurora Cemetery. OBITUARY: Harold Amend Harold Adam Amend, the son of Conrad and Pauline (Wertz) Amend, was born at Loma, Colorado, on January 2, 1909, and died at Aurora, Nebraska, on March 13, 1997, at the age of 88 years, 2 months, and 11 days. He received his schooling in Lincoln, Nebraska. On May 1, 1929, he was united in marriage to Elizabeth Beideck at Lincoln. They moved to Aurora, until 1932, when they returned to Lincoln, where Harold was employed as a linotype operator in a print shop. In 1935, they returned to Aurora, and he was employed at the Aurora News Register, as a printer, until his retirement in 1979. Mrs. Amend preceded him in death on August 14, 1994. Following her death he resided at the Hamilton Manor in Aurora. Harold was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church in Hampton, and his hobbies were hunting and fishing. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Elizabeth, one daughter Joan Lundquist, a brother Herman, and a sister Clara Swartz. Those who remain to cherish his memory are his son Dallas and his wife DeEtta of Clifton, Virginia; 2 brothers, Henry and John, both of Lincoln; a sister Geraldine Superfine of Chicago, Illinois; 5 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren.
