Cecile Allen, age 91, of Aurora died Tuesday, May 14, 2002 at her home.
Funeral Services will be held at the Aurora United Methodist Church on Monday, May 20th at 10:30 A.M. Rev. Seth L. Leypoldt will officiate. Interment will be in the Aurora Cemetery. OBITUARY: CECILE ALLEN
Cecile Victoria Allen, the daughter of Samuel Marion and Mary (Kolous) Radcliff, was born at Dawson County Sumner, Nebraska on September 5, 1910 and died at Aurora, Nebraska on May 14, 2002, at the age of 91 years.
At the age of six the family moved to York County. Cecile attended country school there and at the age of 13 moved to Bradshaw, where she graduated from high school in 1928.
In March 16, 1929, she was united in marriage to William Wesley Allen of Aurora. They made their home on the family farm 4 ½ miles north of Aurora, with the exception of three years, 1933, 1934, & 1935 when they lived on a farm south of Marquette. They had three children; Maurine Beverly, who died soon after birth, Beverly Jean and Stanley Allen. Cecile lived in the same home for 71 years. William died on January 3, 1987.
She attended church at Richland until 1947 when the church burned, then attended church in Marquette. Cecile was baptized in 1947, when she joined the Marquette church. Cecile taught Sunday school for 17 years, grades 3 through 8. She was a member of the Ladies Aid, which later became the Naomi Circle. When the Marquette church closed, Cecile joined the Aurora Methodist Church, where she was a member of the Dorcas Circle. She was a member of the S.O.S. Club.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, an infant daughter, Maurine; a grandson, Wesley Wayne Allen, son-in-law, Bernie Rezek and two brothers, Darrel and Joe Radcliff and two sisters, Gracie May Radcliff and Virgie Marion Christiansen.
Cecile is survived by her son, Stanley Allen and his wife Margaret of Aurora; daughter, Beverly Rezek of Omaha; 6 grandchildren, Jim Allen and his wife Melinda, John Allen and his wife Tammy, Andrew Allen and his wife Jenny, Steven Allen and his fiance Jennifer Estudillo, Katrina Allen and Jean Dwyer; 7 great-grandchildren, Lisa Hack, Michael Blakley, Reid & Ryan Allen, Ashley & Eric Allen and Ashley Allen. She is also survived by two sisters, Lorna Wiens of York and Ethel Cook of Nevada; two brothers, Dean Radcliff and his wife Camelia and Don Radcliff and his wife Gerry all of York; sister-in-law, Betty Radcliff of York and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
