KRUEGER, Ethel A.

Ethel A. Krueger, 100 years of age from Minden, NE died on Thursday, December 30, 2010 at the Long Term Care Unit of Kearney County Health Services in Minden. Ethel was born on December 14, 1910 in Glenvil, NE to Christian and Ane (Pedersen) Rasmussen. She was the 2nd child of 6 and was confirmed at the Hanover Presbyterian Church in the spring of 1925. Ethel grew up on a farm, attended Prairie View Country School, then Pauline High School and later graduated from Glenvil High School. On January 14, 1930 she married Carl Krueger at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Glenvil. They farmed in that area until moving to Minden in 1942 and farming. Ethel cleaned in Minden and also worked at the Bethany Home for many years. Ethel was a member of the Bethany Lutheran Church in Minden. She enjoyed cooking for her family and friends, embroidery and being around her family. Survivors include 2 daughters, Dolores Jorgensen and her husband, Perry and Karen Wilcox and her husband, Larry; and son, DuWayne Krueger and his wife, Marcia all of Minden; 10 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, who died in 1990, a grandson, great granddaughter, 4 sisters and 1 brother. Memorial services will be on Monday, January 3, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the Bethany Lutheran Church in Minden with Rev. Donald Hunzeker officiating. Burial will be in the Minden Cemetery prior to the memorial service. Visitation will be at the Layton-Craig Funeral Home on Sunday from 3-5 p.m.
