Lorraine “Jane” Warnken, 81 years of age from Hildreth, NE died on Friday, December 17, 2010 with her family by her side at the Kearney County Health Services Hospital in Minden. Jane was born on August 20, 1929 on a farm southeast of Hildreth to Fooke and Minnie R. (Keiser) Hemje. She was baptized and confirmed at the St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Hildreth. Jane attended Dist. #26 grade school and later graduated from Hildreth High School in 1946. On September 19, 1948 she married Irvin Warnken. He died on December 17, 1976. Jane moved into Hildreth in 1978. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Hildreth. She had worked two years at the Bethphage Mission in Axtell and then worked for 25 years at Royal Plastics in Minden. Jane enjoyed gardening, cooking, baking and canning for her family and friends. She loved being around her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Survivors include three sons, Randy Warnken of Hildreth, and his special friend, Anne Madsen, Danny Warnken and special friend, Susie Hulshizer of Kearney and Terry Warnken and his wife, Marilyn of Hildreth; one daughter, Debra Knaus and her husband, Ron of Hildreth; daughter in-law, Connie Reiss of Kearney; four grandchildren, Melissa Jurgens and her special friend, Mike Jakubowski, Ashley Muhmel and her husband, Josh, Shayla Warnken and Alan Warnken; three great grandchildren, Taylor Jakubowski, Caleb and Ava Muhmel; one brother, Don Hemje and his wife, Pat of Syracuse, NE; four sisters, Lucille Wilken of Minden, Doris Friedrich of Castle Rock, CO, Darlene Purdy and her husband, Jim of Lincoln and Sherry Alberts and her husband, Gary of Hildreth. She is preceded in death by her husband, one son, Monty and two brothers. Funeral services will be on Tuesday, December 21, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at the Trinity Lutheran Church with Revs. Patti and Steve Byrne officiating. Burial will be in the St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery in Hildreth. Visitation will be at the Jelden-Craig Funeral Home in Hildreth on Monday from 3-5 and 7-8 p.m. Memorials are suggested to the Trinity Lutheran Church in Hildreth or the Hildreth Vol. Fire Dept.
