David G. Wondra, 62 years of age from Minden, NE died on Wednesday, December 1, 2010 at the Kearney County Health Systems-Hospital in Minden. David was born on October 20, 1948 in Seward, NE to George and Audrey (Feary) Wondra. Dave grew up in Staplehurst, NE and graduated from Seward High School in 1967. He graduated from UNL in 1971. After graduating from college he worked in Des Moines until entering law school at UNL. Dave graduated from law school in 1977 and moved to Minden. He was a lawyer with Meier & Adkins until he and Jesse T. Adkins formed Adkins & Wondra in 1980. Dave became the Kearney County Attorney in 1989 and held that position until his death. Dave was active in the community. He was a member of the First Christian Church, Minden Lions Club and the Minden Gun Club. He enjoyed hunting, skiing, shooting trap, tennis and working with his horse. A memorial fund has been established in his name. Survivors include two brothers, James Wondra of Staplehurst and Bill Wondra and his wife, Marilyn of Columbus; two nephews Daniel Wondra of LaVista and Robert Wondra and his wife, Christine of Papillion; great niece and nephews, Lauren, Reed and Erik Wondra; and step niece and nephew, Lauren and Dominic Wilson. He is preceded in death by his parents and sister in-law, Lucille. Memorial services will be on Monday, December 6, 2010 at the First Christian Church in Minden at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Richard Bacon officiating. There will be no visitation. Layton-Craig Funeral Home in Minden is in charge of arrangements. Burial will be in the Seward Cemetery.
