Leslie Edward Huckfeldt, aged 97, died on Saturday, October 30, 2010 in Minden, Nebraska. He was born on July 3, 1913 on a farm near the town of Holstein in Adams County, Nebraska. He was the son of Robert and Henrietta (Luhring) Huckfeldt. His grandparents migrated from Germany to the United States and homesteaded in Adams County. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Holstein, and he died as a member of Bethany Lutheran Church in Minden. He graduated from Holstein High School in 1931, he was a farmer in Nebraska until 1956, and then a letter carrier in Gardena, California until 1978. He retired first to Arkansas and then to Nebraska. He was married to Hulda Huckfeldt, who was the mother of his children, she died in 1959, he later married Millie Huckfeldt and she died in 1985. His three brothers -- Joseph, Elmer, and Clifford preceded him in death. He is survived by his daughter, Marilyn Brennan of Aptos, California; his son, Eldon Huckfeldt and his wife, Sandra of Campbell, Nebraska; his son, Robert Huckfeldt and his wife, Sharon of Sacramento, California; 8 grandchildren; and 16 great grandchildren. His children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren live in Alaska, California, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Nebraska, and New York. Memorial services will be on Friday, November 12, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at the Bethany Lutheran Church in Minden with Rev. Donald Hunzeker officiating. No visitation.
