BELL, James D.

James D. Bell, 50 years of age from Minden, NE died on Monday, October 4, 2010 at his home in Minden. Jim was born on October 29, 1959 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa to Ernest and Norma (Rusk) Bell. He grew up in Cedar Rapids and entered the U.S. Army in 1977. On May 10, 2001 he married Berta and they lived in Iowa, Minnesota and they moved to Minden, Nebraska in June of this year. Survivors include his wife, Berta of Minden; son, Ernie Bell of Denver, CO; daughter, Amanda Bell of Redwing, MN; step son, Brandon Green of Minden; step daughter, Kayla Green of Minden; four grandchildren, Brendon, Caitlyn, Morgan and Isabelle; his mother, Norma Santistevan and her husband, Albert of Minden; brother, Jerry Bell of Minden; sister, DeAnna Elsberry and her husband, Rick of Marshalltown, Iowa, niece, Erica Meister of Jessup, Iowa and other nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. Funeral services will be on Friday, October 8, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at the Layton-Craig Funeral Home in Minden. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Thursday from 3-5 and 7-8 p.m. Burial will be in the Minden Cemetery with Military Rites provided by the Minden American Legion Post #94 and the Heartwell VFW.
