GARLOW, Velma I.

Velma I. Garlow, 103 years of age from Minden, NE died on Monday, October 4, 2010 at the Bethany Home in Minden. Velma was born on November 26, 1906 in Concordia, KS to H. D. and Minnie (Fitzgarrald) Godfrey. Velma married J. Ray Garlow on April 3, 1927. They moved to Lincoln. They lived in Lincoln until moving to Minden in 1994 and lived at the Bethany Home. Ray died in 1999. Velma was a member of the Eastern Star. Survivors include two daughters, Virginia Keating of Fort Collins, CO and Carol Gorby and her husband, Randy of fort Collins, CO; six grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, and grandson, Michael Keating. Services will be on Wednesday, October 6, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at the Bethany Home Chapel in Minden with Rev. Nancy Cole officiating. Burial will be in Concordia Kansas. There will be no visitation. Layton-Craig Funeral Home in Minden is in charge of arrangements. A memorial fund has been established in her name.
