Betty J. Jackson, 74, of Grand Island, died Thursday, February 19, 2004 at the Hearthstone in York, Nebraska. Memorial services will be on Saturday at 2:00 P.M. at Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home. The Rev. Richard Karohl will officiate. Burial of cremains will be in the Grand Island City Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Mrs. Jackson's body was cremated. Mrs. Jackson was born on March 28, 1929 in Grand Island to Roy and Bertha (Petersen) Johnson. Survivors of the immediate family include four sons and two daughters-in-law, Mike Jackson of Sodtown, Ted & Delora Hall of Pleasanton, Tim & Brenda Hall of Sutton, and Jeff Jackson of Grand Island; two daughters and sons-in-law, Colleen & Larry Corter of Lincoln, and Julie & Mike Sheridan of Sutton; and one sister, Arline Johnson of Grand Island. Additional survivors include 15 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Jackson received her education in Grand Island and graduated from Grand Island Senior High in 1947. She married Dale Hall in Grand Island. Mr. Hall died in 1956. She married Paul Jackson on February 17, 1957 in Grand Island. The couple lived in Sutton. Mrs. Jackson was employed at the Cornhusker Army Ammunition Plant, and then at Browns Thrift Store in Sutton. The couple moved to Grand Island in 1981, and Mrs. Jackson was employed at Skagway until her retirement in 1995. Mr. Jackson died in April of 2003. She was a member of the Methodist Church in Sutton, and the American Legion. She enjoyed bowling, drawing and her pets. Mrs. Jackson was preceded in death by her parents, her two husbands, and one brother, Roy Johnson Sr.
