Francis H. "Frank" Campbell, 92, of Grand Island died Tuesday, January 27, 2004, at the Grand Island Veteran's Home. Services will be at 10:30 A.M. Saturday at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. The Rev. Francis T. Curran will officiate. Burial will be at 11:30 A.M. Monday, February 2, 2004, at Ft. McPherson National Cemetery at Maxwell, NE. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 P.M. Friday with a 7 P.M. rosary at the church. Mr. Campbell was born January 28, 1911, at Mullen, NE to Jesse and Nora Belle (Hardwick) Campbell. He attended country school 25 miles from Mullen. At age 16, he began Rodeoing and continued that for 30 years. He married Genevieve Dishough on Oct. 22, 1937. Frank entered the U.S. Navy in 1942 and was honorably discharged in 1945. He worked for the Jessie Baking Co. for 10 years. He then trained horses from Fred White for 6 years. He worked 11 years at the Saddle Club and then for Gene Graves. His wife Genevieve died on October 22, 1986. He entered the Grand Island Veteran's Home in December of 1986. Frank married Marie Bode on June 18, 1988, at Grand Island. He was a member of the Catholic faith, the Hall County Sheriff's Posse, the Saddle Club, the Old Time Cowboy Tri State Association, the Eagles and Elks. He is survived by his wife, Marie of Grand Island; two sisters, Jessie Belle Coryell of Santa Cruz, Calif. and Ava Pflug of Hemet, Calif.; one brother, James Campbell of North Platte; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Genevieve.
