BORCHERS, Dolores

Dolores Faye (Thomsen) Borchers, 79, of Los Angeles, CA, formerly of Emerson, died Friday, October 9, 2015. Dolores was born on September 26, 1936, on a small farm in Dixon County, NE, the fourth of five children of Rudolf "Boots" and Neva Thomsen. Following her school years and after attending Wayne State College, she taught for a few years before going back to earn a degree in business. She worked a few local jobs before she headed west with stops in Arizona and ultimately landed in the San Francisco Bay area where many other family members lived. In 1962, she gave birth to her son, Alan Duane Thomsen. In 1975, she married Ronald Borchers and his job relocated them to the Los Angeles area where they bought a home in North Hollywood. The couple retired to Carson City, NV, and lived there until Ronald died in 2008. Dolores again moved to Los Angeles (Eagle Rock) and lived with her son and daughter-in-law, Helga, and two grandchildren, David and Emma. For the last seven years "Dee" had enjoyed her time with her family and traveling the streets and boulevards of LA by bus and taxi. She made numerous new friends after joining two Senior clubs and the ladies auxiliary of the local Eagles Lodge. She enjoyed playing bingo and fundraising, as well as regular trips to the local casinos. Survivors include her son and his family; her older brother, Duane "Pete", and his wife, Claire, their daughter, Jolleen and her husband, Joel; her younger brother, Dale, his wife, Kate and their two children, Ian and Neva; Mark Trevett and wife Patty, Wayne Trevett and wife, Bernadette and Joyce Trevett and their families. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ronald Borchers, older brother, Donald; older sister, Dorothy Trevett, and her husband, Forest; nephews Lynn Trevett and Paul Thomsen.
