WALKER, Raymond "Bud"


Raymond "Bud" Walker, 92, of Norfolk, formerly of Hoskins, died Sunday, Oct. 21, 2012 at Heritae of Bel Air in Norfolk. Services will be held Thursday, Oct. 25 at 10:30 a.m. at Peace United Church of Christ in Norfolk. The Rev. Dr. Richard Brown will officiate. Visitation will be Wednesday, Oct. 24 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Stonacek Funeral Chapel in Norfolk. Raymond "Bud" Walker was born: Feb. 16, 1920 at Hoskins. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Norfolk. He attended school to the eighth grade at District 60 in Wayne County. He married Frances Puls on Dec. 3, 1950 at Peace United Church Of Christ Church in Norfolk. The couple lived at Wayne. Raymond worked seven years for American Breeding Service. They farmed in the Hoskins area. In 1958 they moved to their home place west of the Peace Church. He was a member of Peace United Church Of Christ in Norfolk and the Nebraska Two Cylinder Tractor Club. Survivors include his wife, Frances Walker of Norfolk; children, Mark and Vicki Walker of Norfolk, Linda and Brad Bartlett of Omaha and Neal and Debra Walker of Hoskins; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two brothers, Wesley and Joan Walker of Prescott Valley, Ariz., Don and Marlene Walker of Norfolk and one sister, Lillian Heckman of Hadar He was preceded in death by his parents; one son (Duane in 1969) two brothers, Ben and Marvin and two sisters, Florence and Marian. Pallbearers will be Travis Walker, Brian Walker, Allen Walker, Eric Walker, Angela Nannen, Jessica Bartlett and Rebecca Bartlett. Honorary pallbearers will be great-grandchildren, Ashlynn Frances Walker and Walker Earl Nannen. Burial will be in Spring Branch Cemetery, rural Norfolk. Stonacek Funeral Chapel in Norfolk is in charge of arrangements.
