Henry Albert Whetstone
Henry Albert Whetstone was born at Tarkio, Missouri, July 16, 1889, and passed from this life in Long Pine, Nebraska March 16, 1926, at the age of 36 years and 8 months.
The family moved to Nebraska in 1890, settling in Dawes County near Chadron, later coming to Cherry County, and then to Long Pine. He was married to Ethel Emory December 24, 1911, two children being born to them. On July 10, 1922 he was again married to Lillian Florence Hamar.
Of recent years his life has been an long struggle for health. Five years ago he spent some time in Albuquerque, New Mexico, seeking relief but finding none he returned to Long Pine for a time. Then he and his wife left for Phoenix, Arizona, where they spent three months hoping to find some relief, but finding himself still failing they returned to Long Pine January 11 where the remainder of his time was spent until the end came.
He passed quietly away Tuesday, morning March 16, at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. E. Whetstone in Long Pine.
Three short services were held Thursday morning after which the body was taken to Sparks for burial, as that had been his request. Three services were held at the M. E. Church, Rev. W. C. Burmingham of the Long Pine M. E. church having charge of the funeral.
He leaves besides his wife, father and mother and two daughters, Hazel and Doris, of Baker, Oregon, a brother William, six sisters, Mrs. Bertha Hutchison of Sparks, Mrs. Jennie Grady of Norden, Mrs. Mabel Martin of Chadron, Mrs. Mildred Brown of Norfolk, and Marie and Cecil, of Long Pine.
