Funeral services for Leona F. Timperley, age 83, of Tilden, Nebraska will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 23, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Tilden. Reverend Michael Awe will officiate. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Brockhaus-Harlan Funeral Home in Tilden. Leona died Wednesday, April 15, 2015, at Faith Regional Health Services in Norfolk, NE. Leona Faye Brandt, daughter of Fletcher and Esther (Noe) Brandt, was born October 20, 1931, at Royal, NE. She attended rural school near Royal and graduated from Creighton High School in 1949. She received her teaching certificate from Wayne State College and taught rural school for a couple years. On May 25, 1951, Leona was united in Marriage to Lloyd W. Timperley at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Tilden. The couple was blessed with five daughters: Carol, Irene, Becky, Barbara, and Donna. Leona and Lloyd raised their family on the farm northwest of Tilden, where they continued to live until moving to Tilden in 1999. Leona moved to Norfolk in 2010, and resided a The Meadows and Heritage of Bel Air. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, Country spinners Square Dance Club, and the Tilden Senior Citizens. She enjoyed raising flowers while at home and later playing bingo and reading. Leona is survived by her daughters, Carol Nierodzik of Norfolk, Irene (Rudy) Spulak of Tilden, Becky (Vern) Vodvarka of Dodge, Barb (Dallas) Austin of Meadow Grove, and Donna (Gary) Sevening of Norfolk; nine grandchildren, Ed (Jennifer) Nierodzik, Angie Nierodzik, Jeremy (Vanessa) Spulak, Gina (Marco) Kpeglo, Trent (fiancée Ann) Spulak, Amanda Vodvarka, Brian Vodvarka, Beau (Jill) Austin, and Cole (Maria) Austin; two step-grandchildren, Jenny (John) Kelly and Scott (Hyemi) Sevening; seven great-grandchildren, Kristi Nierodzik, Wyatt Nierodzik, Isabela Spulak, Kendra Spulak, Brianna Spulak, Elizabeth Kpeglo, and Colter Austin; four step-great-grandchildren, Ava Kelly, Willa Kelly, Alex Sevening, and Henry Sevening; two brothers, Lyle (Evelyn) Brandt and Charley Brandt; one brother-in-law, Carsten Lorenzen; and many nieces and nephews. Leona was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 61 years, Lloyd, in 2012; one sister and brother-in-law, Alice and Bernard Schroeder; two sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Brandt and Mildred Lorenzen.
